Who Am I?
Buenas, Guahu si Richille (Rih-shell)
My family often refers to me as "Sirena," whereas my friends usually just call me "Shell." I reside on the breath-taking island of Guahan, where our waters run deep but our roots run deeper. I'm a young CHamoru woman finding her way through life. I have so much love for people and my culture. I consistently battle with the fact that I live in a world that rejects religion. In 2018, I graduated from the University of Guam with my bachelors degree in Social Work and minored in Sociology. In 2019, I graduated with an advanced standing masters degree in Social Work with a concentration in Child & Family.
Informal Greeting: Helping people brings me joy. Photography makes my heart skip a beat. The oceans calms me. The stars console me. Hearing people laugh sooth me. Nature grounds me. Sarcasm is my coping mechanism. Crying while laughing is my personal talent. Traveling is my addiction. Sweets are my thing.
I've been on and off this blog for several years now. It's 2021 and I'm wanting to put more of my thoughts into words. I'm wanting to reflect on what I've learned and showcase my thought process on various concepts.
I'm just gonna wing this the way I feel I do in other areas of my life.
